SHR stands for Super Hair Removal. It is a delivery method, not a type of light source.

Why It Matters

SHR describes HOW energy is delivered (gradual heating with rapid pulses), not WHAT delivers it. SHR can be applied to real diode lasers (like Soprano) or to IPL machines. The term SHR alone does not tell you if you are getting a real laser treatment. You must ask what device powers the SHR - a $100,000 Soprano laser and a $3,000 generic IPL can both claim to offer SHR treatments.
