Notes
GentleLase Pro with upgrade path to GentleMax Pro. Single-wavelength 755nm Alexandrite platform, upgradeable to dual-wavelength GentleMax Pro by adding the 1064nm Nd:YAG module. Spot sizes from 1.5mm to 24mm (with optional Large Spot and Specialty Delivery Systems). Up to 10Hz repetition rate. Shares the same platform, user manual, and 4,600VA electrical spec as the GentleYAG Pro-U. Candela's recommended entry point for practices planning to upgrade to GentleMax Pro as they grow.
Overview
Candela's current single-wavelength Alexandrite platform and the upgradeable entry point into the Gentle Pro series. The 'U' in Pro-U stands for upgradeable — clinics can add the 1064nm Nd:YAG module to convert it into a GentleMax Pro without replacing the entire system.
How It Works
755nm Alexandrite laser targets melanin in hair follicles. DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) sprays cryogen milliseconds before each pulse, protecting the epidermis. Variable pulse durations and spot sizes up to 24mm allow treatment customization. Enhanced 2Hz repetition rate for faster coverage of large areas.
Typical Uses
- Hair removal on lighter skin types (Fitzpatrick I-III)
- Pigmented lesions (age spots, sun damage, freckles)
- Vascular lesions (port wine stains)
- Practices planning to upgrade to GentleMax Pro dual-wavelength
Key Features
Upgradeable to GentleMax Pro. The single most important distinction from the older GentleLase Pro. Same platform and power as the dual-wavelength models. Optional 20/22/24mm Large Spot Delivery System makes it the fastest standalone Alexandrite hair removal laser. DCD cryogen cooling is operator-independent and scales with fluence, unlike gel-based cooling.
