Notes

Second generation Soprano, circa 2008. Upgraded power output and refined In-Motion SHR technology over the original Soprano. Still single wavelength 810nm diode. Many units remain in active clinical service.

Overview

Second generation of the Soprano family, launched around 2008. Builds on the original Soprano with upgraded power output and refined SHR In-Motion technology. Still a single-wavelength 810nm diode system.

How It Works

Same SHR principle as the original Soprano: low-fluence pulses at high repetition rates with In-Motion delivery. The XL added improved power capabilities for faster treatment of larger body areas. Contact cooling protects the skin surface.

Typical Uses

  • Still found in many established clinics that purchased the system when it was current
  • Budget-conscious clinics purchasing refurbished units

Key Features

A legitimate Alma laser with proven clinical results. Single wavelength (810nm) limits versatility compared to newer multi-wavelength Soprano models. If your clinic uses a Soprano XL, the technology is real but over 15 years old. Worth asking whether they have considered upgrading to a multi-wavelength system for broader skin type coverage.
