Overview
Sciton's 1064nm Nd:YAG laser module, available on the JOULE and Profile platforms. FDA-cleared for permanent hair reduction and pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB). Also handles vascular lesions, making it a dual-purpose module rather than a dedicated hair removal device.
How It Works
The Large Area Pattern Generator (LAPG) automatically scans a 30x30mm area with non-sequential spot placement, covering large areas 4x faster than manual hand-placed spots. A 250W thermoelectric contact chiller provides continuous cooling. The flat-top beam profile ensures uniform energy distribution with no hot spots.
Typical Uses
- Darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV-VI) where Nd:YAG is safest
- Tanned patients who cannot use Alexandrite or diode
- Practices using Sciton JOULE/Profile platform wanting to add hair removal capability
Key Features
LAPG scanner covers a full back in ~200 scans versus thousands of manual spots on other systems. No consumable costs. Part of Sciton's modular platform. Clinics can add it alongside BBL, HALO, and other Sciton modules. Not a standalone device.
