Notes
Multi-technology platform (DPC + RF + VermaDerm IR). Hair removal uses DPC (Dynamic Pulse Control) handpieces. DPC is SharpLight's proprietary enhanced IPL technology, not laser. Three hair removal handpieces: HR 580 (skin I-IV), HR 635 (I-V), HR 730 (III-V). Also does skin rejuvenation, acne, vascular/pigmented lesions, body contouring. Israeli manufacturer, FDA-cleared (2011). Particularly strong presence in Canadian market. Price range $125,000-$175,000.
Overview
SharpLight's multi-technology platform combining DPC (enhanced IPL), RF, and VermaDerm infrared technologies. For hair removal, it uses DPC handpieces — SharpLight's proprietary advancement of IPL with three pulse configurations (smooth, long, high). Despite being marketed as an advanced aesthetic system, the hair removal component is IPL-based, not laser.
How It Works
DPC (Dynamic Pulse Control) delivers broadband light through handpieces with different cut-off filters. Three pulse modes allow customization: smooth pulse for darker skin, long pulse for medium skin, high pulse for lighter skin with fine hair. TEC contact cooling to -8°C protects the skin surface. The system also includes RF and VermaDerm IR handpieces for non-hair-removal treatments.
Typical Uses
- Multi-service clinics in Canada and internationally
- Practices wanting hair removal + skin rejuvenation + body contouring in one platform
- Clinics expanding their treatment menu without multiple devices
Key Features
Three DPC hair removal handpieces cover skin types I-V: HR 580nm (I-IV), HR 635nm (I-V), HR 730nm (III-V for darker skin). DPC technology offers three pulse configurations for treatment customization. SharpLight explicitly describes DPC as 'an advancement of IPL'. It is NOT laser technology. Note: SharpLight's RF technology is not cleared for sale in the US. Strong presence in Canadian market through partnership with American Laser Clinics (AML) group.
