Notes

Launched around 2017. First Soprano to combine all three wavelengths (755nm Alexandrite, 810nm Diode, 1064nm Nd:YAG) in a single Trio handpiece firing simultaneously. This was a major leap from the Soprano ICE which required separate handpieces per wavelength. 2cm² Trio spot size. SHR In-Motion delivery with ICE sapphire contact cooling.

Overview

Launched around 2017, the Soprano ICE Platinum was the first laser to combine three wavelengths (755nm Alexandrite, 810nm Diode, 1064nm Nd:YAG) in a single Trio handpiece that fires all three simultaneously. This was a breakthrough in the Soprano family, eliminating the need to switch between separate applicators as required on the Soprano ICE.

How It Works

The Trio handpiece delivers all three wavelengths simultaneously, targeting different tissue depths and anatomical structures within the hair follicle in a single pass. The 755nm targets the bulge of the follicle (effective for light/fine hair), the 810nm targets the bulge and bulb (deep penetration, general purpose), and the 1064nm targets the bulb and papilla (safest for dark skin). SHR In-Motion delivery uses low-fluence rapid pulses with continuous handpiece movement. ICE sapphire cooling keeps the skin comfortable throughout.

Typical Uses

  • Clinics treating diverse skin types who want one handpiece for all patients
  • Practices upgrading from the Soprano ICE to eliminate handpiece switching

Key Features

The key innovation over the Soprano ICE is the Trio handpiece: all three wavelengths in one applicator with a 2cm² spot size, versus three separate 1cm² handpieces on the ICE. This means faster treatments, no switching between applicators, and simultaneous multi-depth targeting. However, the Trio spot size (2cm²) is smaller than the Titanium's Trio MAX (4cm²), so treatment times on large areas like legs and back are roughly double what the Titanium achieves. If your clinic uses the ICE Platinum, they have invested in a premium Alma system with proven tri-wavelength technology. It sits just below the Titanium and Titanium SE in Alma's current lineup.
