Notes

Syneron's original multi-application platform using elos technology. Hair removal via DSL/DS handpiece (810nm diode laser + RF). Also has IPL-based handpieces (SR, SRA) for other treatments. Important: the eMax platform includes BOTH laser and IPL handpieces. The technology used depends entirely on which handpiece is attached.

Overview

Syneron's original multi-application elos platform, one of the most versatile aesthetic systems ever made. Handles hair removal, skin rejuvenation, vein treatment, acne, skin tightening, and wrinkle reduction through interchangeable handpieces. Important: the eMax has BOTH diode laser handpieces (DSL/DS for hair removal) and IPL-based handpieces (SR/SRA for skin rejuvenation).

How It Works

The elos platform combines optical energy (either diode laser or IPL depending on the handpiece) with bipolar radiofrequency. For hair removal, the DSL handpiece uses an 810nm diode laser + RF with a 12x15mm spot size. For skin treatments, the SR/SRA handpieces use broadband light (IPL) + RF. The technology you receive depends entirely on which handpiece the clinic attaches.

Typical Uses

  • Established clinics that invested in the eMax ecosystem years ago
  • Practices offering a wide menu of aesthetic services from one platform
  • Many eMax systems are still in active service despite being older technology

Key Features

Critical distinction: ask your clinic WHICH HANDPIECE they use for hair removal. The DSL/DS handpiece = real diode laser (good). The SR/SRA handpiece = IPL (not a laser). Same machine, very different technology depending on the attachment. The eMax is from a reputable manufacturer (Syneron, now Candela Medical) and many clinics still run them reliably, but the platform is older and has been superseded by the elos Plus.
